The Genetics Science Learning Center at the University of Utah has a great page that shows you quite how small biological stuff is. Click here and then move the slider to the right as you zoom in on increasingly small stuff. If you’ve ever tried to do PCR and found it hasn’t worked, now you know why – look at the size of the cells and molecules here, and imagine the relatively massive size of the Eppendorf tube where you were trying to artificially reproduce those phenomena… If you don’t know what I’m talking about, never mind.

Thanks to Karlina Ozolina for sending me the link.
